It is a repository of ancient manuscripts constructed
in 1939, high on a hill. The huge status to famous Armenian people Mesrop
Mashtots and Movses Khorenatsi in front of the building will prepare you
to hear the centuries' old history. The ancient heritage of the Armenian
people has been given a truly reliable repository. The building contains
a museum and a scientific research institution. The Matenadaran exhibits
numerous masterpieces of Armenian miniature painting which has acquired
world fame. It has more than 14,000 manuscripts.
